“Books break the shackles of time, proof that humans can work magic.”—Carl Sagan
Coming Nov 06/25
"Maple Treow doesn’t want much from life, to put it simply she just wants to keep her siblings alive. In a continent suffocated by dust, where nothing grows and magic has abandoned them this becomes nearly impossible. As the current government scrambles, implementing more regulations on their ever dwindling resources, Maple resorts to desperate measures. What starts as a futile attempt at obtaining her sisters medication becomes an eye opening journey. One where Maple needs to decide how far she’s willing to go to uncover the truth about her world, and what she’s willing to sacrifice along the way." Beyond The Maples is a novel that blends fantasy and romance in a gripping dystopian setting. The book explores what it’s like to navigate complicated familial relationships while the main character also learns to accept her brain works differently than others. Some of the underlying themes are mental health, neurodivergence, and grief. This book is for people who loved Fourth Wing, The Hunger Games, and the Shatter Me series.

about
Kae lives in a small town in British Columbia with her daughters, husband, and dog. She has spent her whole life surrounded by beautiful lakes, mountains, and orchards as far as you can see. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her hanging out with her family, enjoying all her valley has to offer.
She earned her BA from Thompson Rivers University in 2020, focusing on Psychology and English. Kae had a colorful childhood, filled with siblings (and step-siblings) and many twists and turns along the way. She uses her love for psychology and literature, along with her vibrant life experiences, to create diverse characters with complex backgrounds—characters filled with trauma, empathy, and humor. She hopes to build her community along the way and continue collaborating and creating with like minded people.

Is this bookstagram worthy?
Not entirely sure how I got here, but somehow I'm now the one posting book reqs, connecting over wild fan theories, and drooling over beautiful book photos.
I hope to keep building a community of equally crazed book enthusiasts. When I started writing my book, I quickly realized that the best way to connect with other authors and people in the book community was through social media.
So despite my reluctance to show my face, I dove in. Come join me and connect over good books!
